Tools for drawing up commitment plans

Hello dear participant !

Welcome once more to our training workshop on drawing up and updating commitment plans.

In this sequence 11, we will handle the ‘definition of the annual work plan and give the format of its presentation’.

The AWP is the operational and infra-annual programming tool which provides a timetable for carrying out activities and tasks.

Once the AWPs have been drawn up for each programme, with a monthly breakdown of activities, it is up to each administration to translate them into a budgetary commitment plan for each programme.

In order to ensure their usability in the Commitment Plan (CP) development process, information relating to the task completion schedule is essential. To this end, it is recommended that, when developing the AWPs, administrations must complete the section dedicated to the task completion schedule.

The AWP is presented in the form of a table including, among other things:

  • – in the rows, the activities broken down into tasks,
  • – in the columns, a timetable for each task, the weighting of tasks within the activity, the methods of execution, the services in charge of their execution, the funds allocated, etc..

From this sequence 11, you should remember that the Annual Work Plan contains the annual expenditure forecasts for the programmes of each ministry or administration. It is the ultimate document for programming and steering the activities of a structure within the framework of results-based management.
